Speed Equity® Fundraising Program
Harj Gill has been actively involved in giving back to the community ever since he created the Speed Equity® System in 1995. His mission is to raise $100,000 for community and church groups in the U.S. within the next 12 months. So far he has raised $23,822 for the Real Estate Association of Puget Sound (REAPS), a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing education, information and networking to its members. Church groups can especially benefit from Harj's "Taking Back the American Dream" fundraising program because he believes that a financially healthy congregation is an invaluable asset not only to its church but also to the wider community. His program has never been more important than NOW because so many people are losing hope due to the nation's economic woes. When people see record unemployment figures, astronomical numbers of homes in foreclosure, billions of dollars in government bailouts given to financial institutions that got us into this mess - who in turn are giving their executives unbelievable bonuses - it leads to a sense of helplessness, selfishness and moral degradation. In other words the mentality of "ME-FIRST" creeps in. On the other hand when people are taught how to exercise sound fiscal responsibility they become better spouses, better parents, better community members, and better givers. In addition they become better positioned to set an example to teach others whilst giving back more to their church.
